Hi, I’m Sarah Breck, a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trinity Western University (2018). I support young adults, adults, families, and couples as they navigate life’s challenges and move toward a more grounded, authentic sense of self.
My work is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and a deep belief in people’s capacity to heal and grow. I specialize in eating disorders, ASD, trauma, anxiety, and depression/low mood, and I’m passionate about helping individuals understand what’s getting in the way of living in alignment with their true, congruent selves.
Therapeutically, I integrate Emotion Focused Family Therapy, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. I take a strengths-based approach and strive to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered. Whether someone is working through long-standing wounds, building new coping tools, or trying to reconnect with themselves or their family, we work together at a pace that feels safe and meaningful.
I currently support clients in Williams Lake (in person) and throughout BC (virtually). I have a strong background in community mental health, including experience providing virtual services in rural settings; an approach that has shaped my belief in accessibility, creativity, and meeting clients exactly where they are.
At the heart of my practice is the hope that people feel understood and not alone in their struggles. I am continually inspired by the courage clients show as they explore difficult emotions, repair relationships, build trust in themselves, and move toward a life that feels more whole and aligned.

I’m passionate about creating a safe and welcoming space where children, youth, and families feel truly heard and supported. Growing up comes with challenges, and every young person deserves a space to explore their thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment. I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, but I firmly believe that healing happens through connection—with ourselves and with others.
My approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, grounded in unconditional positive regard, empathy, collaboration, and deep respect for each individual’s unique experiences. I have experience working with children, youth, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, self-harm, Autism, ADHD, and relationship challenges. I also recognize how important it is to feel seen and understood, especially when exploring identity, emotions, and the complexities of life. Together, we will move at a pace that feels right for you, using therapeutic approaches tailored to your needs.
I hold a Master’s in Counselling Psychology and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association for Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
No matter where you are on your journey, I’m here to listen, support, and walk alongside you.

Imagine a place where you can express your thoughts and feelings without judgement. A place where you can talk about anything and know that the story stays in the room. A place where you are supported in navigating life’s challenges. A place where you are truly heard. This is the basis of counselling, and it is a process that allows you to gain a deeper understanding of your concerns, your relationships, and most importantly, yourself. I truly believe that counselling can help you move away from challenges and towards a greater enjoyment of life.
I am incredibly dedicated to providing authentic and compassionate support to others and aspire to create connections built on understanding and trust. My counselling approach is to create a safe, caring, and calm space for you to look at your life and to support you in finding some answers to “what’s going on”. My practice is informed by the principles of human psychology, connections in relationships, and lived experiences. Counselling methods used in sessions are person-centered (the client is always the expert in their story), trauma informed (our past influences who we are), emotionally focused (our emotions guide us), and solution based (focusing on how to solve the problem).
To support you on your journey, I have a Master’s in Education in Counselling from the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC). I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), a professional association that has confidence in the experience and qualifications of their RCC’s. Additional training includes Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Person Centered Counselling, Solution Based Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
I have many years of experience working with youth and adults with social/emotional concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, communication challenges, boundary setting, and personal growth. I’m here to support individuals in exploring who they are, finding balance in their life, and healing in the process. Our time together will enable you to see that you have the strength to bring clarity to your issues, work through your concerns, and persevere to make the changes necessary to live the life that you want to live.

Thank you for having the courage to check out my page. You are probably wondering who I am, if my approach aligns with needs and vision of therapy.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012. Early on in my nursing career I specialized in nephrology. While I loved this nursing and the medical complexity, what became apart is psychological struggles that coexist with chronic disease. I shifted my nursing career to mental health in 2015 an have not looked back. I have worked with clients of all ages from mild to severe mental illness in a variety of roles. This inspired me to further my education and begin my Masters of Counselling Psychology.
Having worked through a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) lens for many years in healthcare, I wanted to learn more about the different types of trauma treatment. My interest in EMDR grew, and I was excited for the opportunity to take EMDRIA approved training. EMDR is different from traditional therapy in that it helps find and process the root cause of a persons distress. While it was initially discovered and proven to be an effective treatment for PTSD and trauma, it can also help people with a variety of other psychological distress from performance anxiety, public speaking, anxiety, eating disorders, depression and much more.
As you search for a counsellor that is the right fit, I want to highlight some of the intersectional identities that I have. I am cisgendered (She/Her) and a First Nations woman from the Stó:lō Nation. I celebrate and encourage diversity, and welcome members of the LGBTQIA2S communities.
Thank you for having the courage to check out my page. You are probably wondering who I am, if my...

Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) is a gentle, body-focused approach for addressing stress and trauma. Rather than focusing solely on thoughts or memories, SE™ invites us to notice how the body holds tension or energy that may be “stuck” and helps support its natural ability to release and restore balance. By working directly with the body’s signals, SE™ can help you feel calmer, more grounded, and better able to handle life’s challenges.
In my coaching practice, I integrate Somatic Experiencing® techniques as part of my ongoing SE™ Professional Training (currently at the Advanced 2 level). While SE™ informs my approach, it’s one of several modalities I draw upon to help clients create meaningful, holistic change.
Please note:
Payment for these sessions is the responsibility of the client, and they are NOT eligible for reimbursement through extended health benefit plans.
